Hey there! Thanks for stopping by.

Today I have a fun birthday card to share with you, playing along with the Color Dare challenge blog. Why don’t you join me and make a card? 😁

This week’s challenge is to use the three colors shown. I actually had Grape & Nectarine in my stash. For Bluebird the closest blue I have is Distress Prize Ribbon.

Here’s a shot of most of the supplies.

I pulled three Distress Inks– Dried Marigold, Prize Ribbon, and Dusty concord. I also chose a new Tim Holtz stencil, and the Mythical Monsters stamp set from Simon Hurley. And don’t forget your papers- Grape & Nectarine.

Let’s make a card!

To start, grab your white card base and a stencil. Place the stencil on the card front and do some inking, starting with your orange at the top, fading into the purple, and ending with the blue.

Then open up the card and use the ink remaining on your inking tools (I used blending brushes) and stencil inside the card.

I didn’t have any Bluebird card stock, so I inked some white paper with Prize Ribbon Distress Ink. I used a heat tool to dry it quickly.

Now cut some small strips of each color of card stock. I used a Waffle Flower die set to cut these. Aren’t they cute!

Now choose a monster and stamp him onto heat card stock with Jet Black Archival Ink. Hit it with a heat tool to make sure it’s fully dry. Grab a water brush (or a reg brush and som water) and paint your monster with the Distress Inks. Dry and cut out.

Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of white with black ink. Trim and ink the edges with black ink.

Add your strips, monster, and sentiment as shown.

I glued all the strips down flat, and used foam to add the monster & the sentiment.

Now let’s add some bling.

I used confetti from Trinity Stamps.

OOOHHH NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! 😳👀😳👀

I dropped the ENTIRE CONTAINER of confetti. OMG

Anyhow, once you get them all cleaned up and have a snack to make yourself feel better, add confetti to the card as sown.

I LOVE this card! I can’t wait for a kiddo to have a birthday so I can send it out.
