Hello out there!

Today I have a fun, very pink mermaid themed thank you card to share.

What started this card was the foil plates I picked up at Hobby Lobby from the clearance area. I decided to use the mermaid dies, chipboard stickers and a piece of patterned paper from the Spellbinders July 2022 card kit.

Here’s a shot of most of the supplies…

Grab yourself three white card stock panels approx 4.24×5.5″.

I used Neenah Solar White 110 lb for this.

Die cut a bunch of the mermaids (I cut two panels worth and I used ’em all).

Ink up the mermaids and one uncut panel with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink. Spray the uncut panel with Picked Raspberry Distress Spray Stain. Let dry or dry with heat tool.

Now glue your mermaids all over the inked panel. I used Bearly Art glue for this.

Add the mermaids randomly and allow them to hang off the panel.

Once the glue is dry trim the mermaids off the edges.

Spray with a glimmer spray and dry.

Now, spatter some gold ink/paint over the whole thing. I use gold watercolor and a fan brush.

YA’LL!!! Isn’t this gorgeous.

Trim down some patterned paper and trim down the mermaid panel (I used Waffle Flower layering dies for this). Mat the mermaids with the patterned paper and add to a white card base.

Get that hot foil machine out and heating up.

I chose one of the chipboard stickers to foil on. If you don’t have them, a simple rectangle of card stock will work. Foil the sentiment onto your chosen surface with gold foil.

Once your foiled sentiment is complete, add a mermaid to it. Flip the entire thing over, add foam adhesive. I used fun foam.

Now find some threads to add behind the whole thing. I used black and gold embroidery flosses.

Put wet glue onto the back of the fun foam and place the threads in the wet glue.

Add a little more glue. Let sit for a few seconds so the glue has time to hold onto the thread.

Flip the whole thing over and center onto the card front. Weight down for a minute to dry.

Add some embellishments.

I added two more of the chipboard stickers (no foam) and some goodies from the party mix.

There’s Dew Drops, gems, a heart, and sequins.

I REALLLLLYYYYY like the way this turned out.

For the inside I added a strip of the patterned paper from the front, a mermaid, and a chipboard sentiment.
