Hey there! Welcome back.

Today I want to share a card I made for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.

This challenge is to create your own back ground.

Let me show ya how I did the back ground for this card.

Gather the supplies- paper, Distress inks, water. gold paint or ink, and a shimmer spray or two.

Smoosh two colors of ink onto your work surface and spritz with water. Also spritz with some shimmer spray. Place your paper into this concoction and get some color onto that paper. Dry it with your heat tool.

This is the first layer.

Now you’ll see the second layer. Dry with heat tools and repeat the process with your third ink color and another shimmer spray.

Once all that ink is dry, splatter with gold (I use Daniel Smith watercolor that I keep in a little cup just for this purpose). Dry and then run through an embossing folder. After embossing rub the raised areas with black ink (I used Je Black Archival Ink).

Now let’s make a quick butterfly . I swiped the Kitsch Flamingo onto white card stock, and splattered with gold and water.

Dry it and die cut the base layer of the butterfly. cut the top layer from black card stock. glue the layers together.

To finish this card, I cut a piece of crochet trim from black card stock and added it to the left edge of the background piece. I glued this all the way to the right edge of the card front.

I added a piece of fabric trim over the paper crochet trim.

I cut scraps into flags and added them to the card front. Place the butterfly with a mess of thread behind it.

Add some sequins and a sentiment. (I usedTim Holtz sticker).
