Heeyyyy!

I hope you’re having a lovely day.

Today I had some time to use play around and these two birthday cards are the result.

So get some watercolor paper, watercolor paints, ink pads, stamps, and the Tim Holtz Colorize birthday die set.

Here’s a shot of the basics…

Grab yourself some watercolor paper. I’ve gt two pieces approx 5×6″.

I threw very random colors at these sheets of paper. Just whatever I felt like, and I didn’t do any mixing. This stuff was right off the palette.

Let it dry and then start stamping. I used Archival Inks in a few different colors and stamps from Viva Las Vegas Stamps.

I LOVE the way these turned out!
Once you’re happy and everything is dry, cut them down to fit the cards. I like doing it this way so I have nice clean edges.

Once they are cut down, mat them onto card stock panels. I used grey for one and black for another.

Now grab the die set and some card stock scraps, and get to cutting.

I decided I wanted a cake on one card and a gift on the other and chose my papers accordingly.

I made three gifts but only used one. Into the die cut stash the remaining two will go.

Place a cake on one card, kind of toward the upper left. Place a gift on the other at the bottom right corner.

Add a little bling.

Add your chosen sentiments. There’s many ways to go with this but I decided to keep it simple and use some Tim Holtz sentiment stickers.

For no nekkid insides, I used the scraps left from trimming the watercolored panels down to add a little something inside the cards.

Here’s the two completed cards. I love the way they turned out!
