Hello darlings, I have a question for you.

Do you have crafty/artistic goals for this year?

If you do, what’s your plan for reaching them?

I’ve got goals, ya’ll. My problems are many, however. One thing is I am incredibly easily distracted. Another problem? I want to DO ALL THE THINGS. I have the same gardening problem, I want to GROW ALL THE THINGS! HA! Also, I have stroke brain so short term memory is terrible. I’m not quite on the same level as Dory (where’s my Disney peeps at), but it can make life a bit tough some days.

I’m working hard to create a schedule for myself to keep heading in the direction I want to go. I’m working on saying no to the things that pull me in other directions. It’s tough when you want to do all the things.

Some of my crafty and artistic goals for this year are:

  • Draw every day. I CANNOT draw and it bugs me. Before I had the stroke I could draw OK. I wasn’t great but was serviceable. You could tell my barn was a barn, for example. But now I can’t really draw a dang thing. So, daily practice is important. I set a timer for 45 min, put the devices away and close the computer. I heard a quote in a you tube video that really resonated with me. I can’t remember the video (sorry) but I do remember the guy saying someone else said this to him and it really resonated with him, and it did with me as well. “You’re laying a single brick on a million different houses and then expecting one day it’ll magically become a mansion.” Whoa!
  • Art journal at least twice a week. Now, I’m not talking videoing or posting every art journal page, but just creating for the sake of creating. It really is therapy for me.

I’d love to know some of your goals and the processes you’ve put in place to reach them.

Have a great day creating, darlings, and remember,

Make something fun!
