Hello! Welcome back.

Today is Color Dare challenge day once again!

Thus week’s challenge is a tic tac toe- so choose three colors.

Come play along! Click here.

I chose the top row- scarlet, toffee, and French vanilla. I actually have scarlet and French vanilla in the stash, so I only had to figure out a brown. Woot!

Since I was busting out some red card stock, I decided to create a Christmas card.

Here’s the dies and card stock I used for this card.

So what do ya say, wanna make a card?

Alrighty. First thing we need to do is create some little ginger bread men. These guys are from a Tim Holtz die set (Christmas 2021 release, I think). They have little eyes but I decided to add wiggle eyes.

These crack me up!

Cut the bodies from brown, the mouth from black. Add the wiggle eyes and mouth, and use a white gel pen for the buttons.

Now assemble the card font.

Cut a scarlet card panel to cover the card front. This card is 5×7.

Then, emboss a piece of scarlet with a dot embossing folder. Trim and add to card front.

Now, cut out the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn die. Cut twice from French vanilla card stock and once from gold glitter paper.

Stack the two French vanilla die cuts. Cut “Christmas” from the gold die cut. Layer the gold “Christmas” onto the French vanilla die cut.

I messed up the dot for the I while cutting it out, so I used a glitter enamel dot in its place.

Now let’s assemble the card.

Place merry Christmas in the center towards the top of the dot panel using skinny foam tape.

Add three ginger bread men below the sentiment. I popped up the middle one and glued the other two down flat.

Add a glitter enamel dot at each end of the ginger bread man line.

That’s it!

Supplies-

  • 5×7 card base, paper trimmer, scissors, adhesive, foam adhesive, die cutter, tiny wiggle eyes
  • card stock in scarlet, toffee and French vanilla (or whatever you have that’s close)
  • gold glitter card stock, scrap of black card stock
  • Lawn Fawn giant merry Christmas die
  • Tim Holtz Christmas dies (this set would work well too)
