Howdy!

Let’s play along with the Color Dare challenge blog this week ok!

This week’s challenge is to choose at least three colors from this image.

Guess what?! Of alllll these gorgeous colors, I had only one 😂

So, what did I do? I colored some paper with Distress Oxide inks.

The colors I chose are Seabrook (I had a piece of this card stock), Grape (used Seedless Preserves), and Melon (I used Abandoned Coral).

For the purple and the melon, I got some white card sock out and swipe my Distress Oxide ink pads over it to color the paper and dried it with a heat tool.

So let’s start making this birthday card.

First, cut a panel of sea brook card stock for your card front and stick it on. This one is 4 x 5.25.

I wanted the white border.

Next, cut two strips 1 1/2 x 3 3/4″/ and add them to the card with foam adhesive.

Now cut two nested circles from the purple and melon, and layer them.

Cut a third circle from white card stock and stamp the puppy with black ink.

Color the puppy however you’ like (I used Vintage Photo, Seedless Preserves, and Abandoned Coral watercolor pencils).

Next, get your purple ink and stencil stars around the puppy. Then, use the left over ink on your tool (I used the sponge applicator) to gently color in around the puppy.

Stamp the hat on a scrap of the same melon card stock and cut out. Add to the puppy. Now he’s ready to pawty!!! (see what I did there)

Now cut out some balloons. I added white card stock behind the highlights on the balloons.

Create a balloon cluster on the card.

Stamp “I ruff you” and cut out. Add to the puppy.

And here’s the final steps… Add some Stickles to the party hat, trim the balloon strings if needed, and stamp “happy birthday” inside the card.
