Hey there!

Today is another challenge from the Color Dare challenge blog!

This was a fun one- shades of grey and two colors of your choosing.

I had some scraps of Flamingo and Wisteria sitting on my desk, so I used those.

Here’s a pic of most of the supplies.

As per usual, I started with an A2 white card base made from Neenah Solar White, 110 lb.

This one is a top fold card.

First things first- pick out a cover plate die with an open design. Cut it twice from one shade of grey, and once from another shade of grey.

Clean out all the innards and stack the two lighter grey pieces together.

Add the stacked die cut to the card front.

Now, randomly add some of the innards back into the cover die.

I used the lighter grey inside the horizontal lines of diamond shapes, and the dark grey in random spots.

Now it’s time to pull the other two colors in.

I used butterfly dies from Tim Holtz & Sizzix.

Cut two butterfly bases from Flamingo and one from Wisteria. Cut the top detail layers from black glitter. Glue the butterflies together.

For the sentiment, cut a black sentiment strip. Mat with grey and then with black.
I cannot believe I forgot to use my black marker around the edges of the black sentiment strip 😳

Assemble the card front as shown above.

Everything is glued down flat (I use Bearly Art glue).

I gently folded the wings of the butterflies up and only glued the center of the body down.

Lastly, add some bling. I pulled clear and silver stuff out of the party mix bowl.

Supplies-

  • card base, die cutter, butterfly dies, cover plate die, scissors, adhesives
  • sentiment strip
