Heyyyy out there!
Today I’ve got a silly, childish Valentine’s Day card to share.
I used the Mythical Monsters stamp set from Simon Hurley.
I’m sorry, I forgot to take the photo of the supplies, but the card is cute LOL
This week’s challenge is to use one metallic and two of your favorite colors.
I’m a pink girl so I chose two shades of pink along with gold. I used black and white for my neutrals.
The card base is a top fold A2 in a shimmery pink.
I cut a wide strip of dot embossed darker pink and put it down the center of the card.
Then a small rectangle (this was a scrap) of white paper that was cut using a background die is centered on the pink strip. It measures approx 2.5×4″.
Now stamp and color an image on white card stock. My image is from the Mythical Monsters set from Simon Hurley and colored with two pink colored pencils, highlighted with a white gel pen.
Trim into a rectangle approx 2×2″. Matt onto black card stock, and then onto gold paper. If you want, add a little decorative trim at the bottom.
Place this onto the white background as shown.
Now choose your sentiment. This is also from the Mythical Monsters set. Trim into a strip and Matt with black card stock. Add to card below the focal image, at an angel.
Now, I added wiggle eyes to my monster.
Last but not least for the card front- HEARTS. ❤️This IS a Valentine card after all!❤️
I pulled a bunch of white & black glitter hearts from my die cut stash. I also used the heart from the Chilly & Freezy die set (this was the Diecember set with Simon Says Stamp & Tim Holtz, but any small heart will work) to cut hearts from the gold, black, and the darker pink card stock that I used on the card front.
Inside the card I used a sentiment strip from Paper Rose.
Don’t forget to use a black marker around the cut edges of the strip!
Add a few hearts inside, and Bob’s your uncle!
I really loved the whole making a box and passing out valentines as a kid, and I really wanted to just make a silly childish card.
