Hey there, hi there, ho there!
How ’bout another Halloween card?
This card makes me happy. My moon turned out sooo cool! The Oxide ink did its thing and I love it.
Also, I’ve been playing with alcohol markers lately, practicing, figuring things out.
This gnome is one of the first images that I thought tuned out pretty well.
So, let’s make a card.
For the moon, I used a stencil set from Spellbinders. This actually has 4 layers (plus the mask) but I only use two layers.
For the main moon shape I used Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink. For the detail layer I used a mix of Fossilized Amber & Scattered Straw.
I then placed the mask over my awesome looking moon and inked the entire background with Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, and Uncharted Mariner (I love this color).
Next, I got the Distress sprayer and sprayed water exactly at the edge of the moon in a few spots.
Look at how that oxidized!! I love it.
Next, it’s splatter time 😁
Place the mask back over the moon.
I used two Gloss Sprays (pulling the sprayer out of the bottle and tapping it onto the paper.
Then splatter some gold watercolor. I use this one from Daniel Smith.
I stamped the gnome from the fabulous Brutus Monroe/Simon Says Stamp Stamptember collab set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I colored the gnome using Caliart alcohol markers.
You marker pros out there, I’d love your tips.
I fussy cut the colored gnome and added him to the moon panel.
Then I stamped and cut the little black cat out and sat him on the broom.
Sentiment stamped onto a scrap of white card stock, trimmed, inked, and added to the card with foam squares.
Lastly add a few tiny embellishments, and you’re done.
